Sayyid Abul Hasan 'Ali Nadvi

Maulana Sayyid Abul Hasan ‘Ali Nadwi (RA) passed away on 23 Ramadan, 1420 (Dec. 23, 1999) at the age of 86. A great scholar, thinker, writer, daa’ee and world-renowned personality, at the age of thirteen he had learned Arabic fluently and by twenty, he graduated from Nadwatul-Ulama, India, one of the great Muslim centers of knowledge. With over fifty books and numerous speeches written in Arabic, Urdu and English, Maulana Nadwi was tireless in advancing the cause of Islam. He was a member of several Islamic institutions and received in 1980 the King Faisal Award for his service to Islam.
