KHULFA-E-RASHIDEEN
THE RIGHTLY GUIDED CALIPHS
(May Allah be pleased with them)

Abu Bakr, Umar, Usman and Ali,
Each one of them was dear to our Nabi.

A diehard Muslim, a staunchest believer,
Each one of them was a man of character.

A devoted preacher, a soldier of Islam,
Each one of them was a wonderful imam.

Upright, honest, God-fearing and kind,
Each one of them was simply divine.

After the Prophet, as you have heard,
Each one was our good shepherd.

Kings paid homage and infidels fled,
When any of them was the faithfuls’ head.

It was a republic, a true ‘democracy’,
When each one was in the ruling capacity.

A defender of the faith, a noble chief,
Each one of them was a pious caliph.

Each one of them was different and yet,
Each one was an image of the prophet.

Followers of the Prophet: Unity! Unity!
Each one was neither ‘Shia’ nor ‘Sunni’.
