Do you know that there is a building in existence on our planet Earth for at least FOUR THOUSAND YEARS which has been continuously visited by people and never been abandoned!? It is not a historical site for tourists, like the pyramids of Egypt or the Taj Mahal of India, but a lively place of worship and service. This building is called the HOUSE OF ALLAH (God). The House of Allah was built (or rebuilt) by the grandfather of all modern religions in the West and in the Middle East, the great Prophet, Ibrahim (Abraham, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and his first son, the Prophet Isma'il (Ishmael, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), for the worship of ONE GOD. Regarding this House, it is mentioned in the Qur'an: Lo! the first Sanctuary appointed for mankind was that at
Bakkah (Makkah), rich in blessings and a (source of) guidance to the peoples; This place, the House of Allah (in Arabic, Bayt-ullah), is the center of worship for over ONE BILLION PEOPLE all over the world. Since the building is approximately cubical in shape it is called the Ka'bah(meaning 'cube' in Arabic). The Ka'bah is located in Makkah, a city in the Arabian peninsula. There is a week in each year during which the HAJJ, or pilgrimage, takes place. Over 2 million people from all over the world gather at the Ka'bah to perform their Hajj. This is the largest single gathering in the world held annually. In addition, throughout the year about the same number of people visit the place. This building's existence and visit by believers is a miracle indeed and a
proof of the continuous existence of some of the traditions of the Prophet
Ibrahim (peace be upon him). ISLAM IS FOLLOWING THE TEACHINGS AND THE WAY OF
OUR GREAT PROPHET, IBRAHIM (peace be upon him). The Prophet Muhammad (peace
and blessings of Allah be upon him), a descendant of Ibrahim through Isma'il,
revived the religion of Ibrahim, who himself was a Prophet of "Islam" (meaning, the
religion of "submission to the Will of Allah"). Allah chose the Prophet Muhammad ( Do you want to know, more about this strange and unique House of Allah? Contact us: Connecticut Council of Masajid |
